Tisbury fire station holds CPR awareness session

Date: 24th September, 2024

Following the success of CPR and defibrillator training sessions held by Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service earlier this year, one has now been organised in Tisbury.

Anyone interested in knowing more about doing CPR and how to use a defibrillator can go along to the fire station in The Avenue at 10am on Saturday 28 September.

The free two-hour session will be led by a DWFRS casualty care trainer, supported by firefighters.

There will also be the opportunity to look around the fire station and find out about becoming an on-call firefighter in Tisbury.

Station Manager Brady Morris, who manages Tisbury fire station, said: “With more and more defibrillators now installed in publicly available places, our aim is to give people the confidence to step in if they see someone collapse. These sessions have been extremely well received elsewhere, so we look forward to welcoming lots of people to gain this potentially life-saving awareness.”

He added: “Tisbury firefighters have a vital role to play in keeping the local community safe, so this session is also a great opportunity for anyone interested in joining our on-call team to have a chat with the crew about what the job involves.”
