Description: We were called at 11:20pm with reports of a fire in the open on Puddletown Road, Wareham. Initially one crew from Poole was mobilised and on arrival found a fire at a waste site. Additional resources from Swanage, Hamworthy, Westbourne along with water carriers from Poole and Ringwood. A fire involving approximately 400 tonnes of waste was extinguished using two main lines of water and one main line of foam. The stop came in at 2:01am and relief crews from Maiden Newton, Christchurch and Bridports water carrier were mobilised to the scene who took over at 3am. All appliances have now left and a reinspection will take place at 12pm today (20 April).
Approximately 30 firefighters attended this incident.
Update - One crew from Poole attended for a re-inspection at 12pm today (20 April) and the incident has now been handed over to site staff.
