Description: We were called to a hotel on Welton Road, Swindon after smoke was seen coming from the roof. Because of the size of the building, and its use, we mobilised multiple fire crews. Eight breathing apparatus wearers supported a full investigation of the building, and two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire, which was contained to one area of the roof. Approx 30 guests and staff were evacuated from the premises, but were allowed back into a downstairs room once we knew it was safe. The incident was scaled back after about two hours, and the stop was at 6.10am, with all appliances having left the scene by 6.45am. The fire is believed to have started accidentally.
