Description: At 10.40pm tonight (31st October) firefighters from Warminster, Wilton, Westbury, Salisbury and Amesbury were called to reports of a property fire in High Street, Codford. When they arrived, firefighters found a house fully involved in fire. At the height of this incident, we had seven fire engines, a water carrier and the aerial ladder platform from Yeovil (Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue) on the scene (approx. 35 firefighters). Crews wearing breathing apparatus used three hose reels and three main jets to bring the fire under control.
Update 01/11/24 11am - Firefighters remain at the scene of this incident and are working closely with partners in Wiltshire Council, Wiltshire Police and SSE. A joint fire investigation with Wiltshire Police has begun. The High Street will be closed for approx. one hour this morning to allow us to carry out further work at the scene.
Update 01/11/2024 3pm - We remain on scene at this incident dampening down hotspots using the aerial ladder platform.
Update 01/11/2024 6pm - Our stop message came in at 5:19pm today and the remaining crews left the scene just after 6pm.
