We were called to a property fire on Jewell Road, Bournemouth at 1:07am today. Six fire engines were mobilised (Springbourne, Redhill, Christchurch, Poole, Hamworthy and Westbourne) along with the ALP from Westbourne. On arrival crews found one building consisting of a commercial premises and a first floor residential flat alight.
Breathing apparatus wearers used two hose reel jets and one main line to extinguish the fire and one person was rescued from the first floor of the building. Crews administered casualty care until the ambulance service were in attendance and the stop message was in at 3am. At the height of the incident approximately 25 firefighters were in attendance and all resources left by 4:50am. The fire is under investigation, but the cause has not been determined at this stage.
