Fire and rescue authorities have a statutory duty to produce a Community Risk Management Plan.
We fulfil this requirement through our Community Safety Plan, which sets out the key challenges and risks facing us over the coming years. The plan also details what we intend to carry on doing and what we intend to review and do differently to meet and reduce these risks.
In addition to being a requirement of the Fire and Rescue National Framework for England, it is through consultation on our Community Safety Plan that we demonstrate compliance with our best value duty under the Local Government Act 1999. We consult on arrangements to secure continuous improvement in the way in which our functions are exercised, having regard to a combination of economy, efficiency and effectiveness.
Please have a look at our draft plan and the video which provides a short overview.

Between 9 February and 3 May 2024, we held a public consultation on our draft plan. This has now closed, and we would like to thank everyone who gave their views. A summary of all consultation feedback will be published in June when the final plan is approved.
