Who are we?

We are Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service. We help and keep you safe in an emergency. Our other jobs are to help you learn how to keep yourself and your family safe.

What is “Personal Data”?

To keep you safe, we will use your personal data. Personal data is information that could be used to identify you, for example:

Why are we collecting your personal data?

We collect your personal data so that we can help you in an emergency, if we didn’t have your address, we couldn’t send a fire engine!

We might also need to collect your information so you can participate in one of our education programmes or even to enter a competition.

We keep your data on computer systems that we know are safe. These systems have security in place so that no one can access your personal data without us allowing them. Only people who work for us or people we trust will be able to see the data we hold about you.

How long will you keep my data?

We will only keep your data for as long as we need to or if the law says we must keep it. When we no longer need the data, we may destroy it or remove your personal data but keep the bits that don’t identify you.

You have the same rights as adults. These rights include the right to know what we do with your data, this privacy notice does that along with our other privacy notices.
