Description: As at 6pm, we have approx. 40 firefighters on scene. The fire started in a takeaway restaurant on the ground floor of a three storey building, and it is spreading up to the roof via the extraction system. Six breathing apparatus wearers are using three hose reel jets and a main jet to tackle the fire, and the ALP from Yeovil is being used to access the roof. Three people from the building have been moved to a place of safety, with no injuries reported. East Street is likely to be closed for some time while we deal with this incident, and a fire investigation will be carried out in due course.
